Title: The Covalence in the Bond
Pairing/Character: Sheldon/Penny, Booth/Brennan
Rating: T
Summary: Crossover Bones/The Big Bang Theory. To help with a murder case, Sheldon gets Penny to drive him to D.C. to give the fine folks at the FBI and Jeffersonian some information. They go out to dinner for drinks, talk a lot about evolution and guns, and are all totally not hot for one another.
Spoilers: Set around current episodes of each show, but clearly in its own weird world.

A/N: Even though only five people may even want to read this, here’s that plot bunny I mentioned a little bit ago! I’m not even sure if I should link it in Sheldon/Penny, but whatever. It’s Sheldon/Penny at heart and will probably be more than a little obvious in undertones later on. Just like it’s obviously Booth/Brennan (which is really just how to write that show, since they eyefuck the hell out each other every episode!)
So this is the randomest thing I’ve ever written! Bones/BBT? Okay! I think these relationships are mirror images, just reversed! It’s awesome! I have two other little mini-chapters that I’m working with now. If you like this, stick around!
So a little summation, or kind of big summation, whatever. I’m breezing over the back-story (which would just be dry, procedural court/crime stuff, which isn’t as fun for me to write about, sorry) and plowing into the after events, so it’s a little necessary.
Sheldon’s one of eight people to understand (and have worked with, although that doesn’t have much to do with it) Dr. Joe Gosselin’s work in theoretical physics and string theory. Because Sheldon hears of the professors death and knows the answers to the questions/problems that the man had been killed over, he wants to come give them to the FBI. Everyone at CalTech was told to do so, for that matter.
Gosselin had burned his notes, prior and leading to his death, leaving no conclusions to the base of his research. So they go into the guys place, have all the problems, scribbles, etc; – no answers. Sheldon comes, gives his notes, problem solved. It’s added to a list of evidence against whoever they’ll eventually figure out for the murder.
Right now, they’ve finished what they can (Booth had even gone home for the night, until Sheldon arrived early and unexpectedly) and are just looking to blow off some steam. Kind of in thanks to Sheldon, too.
As for Penny, she need money, drove him here for some. Pretty direct, maybe a little far-fetched (them making it alive after driving across the entire county), but imagine she lost her cable, it makes her feel less guilty than just overtly taking more from him or Green Lantern, and maybe drugged his herbal tea at the first rest-stop? Whatever works, right? ;)
Be gentle, this is totally a lark. Please put your disbelief in the upright position and fasten your seat belt! Safety first!
